Effective mounting aid for tubeless Tyres: the Tire Booster by Schwalbe

With the new Tire Booster from Schwalbe, tubeless tyres can be mounted on your bike securely. The lightweight, handy bottle can be used either at rest or on-the-go. Mounting a tubeless tyre requires a strong blast of air so that the tyre bead quickly presses into the rim flange, thus sealing the tyre. Depending on the tyre-rim combination, this is not always possible with conventional floor pumps, according to Peter Krischio, Schwalbe Race Product Manager. A compressor helps in the professional workshop or at the gas station.
For safe and easy fitting without a compressor, Schwalbe is now launching the Tire Booster, which was created in cooperation with the British start-up company Airshot. With it, up to 11 bars of air pressure can be brought into the tyre quickly. This means that the tyre immediately sits securely on the rim and seals evenly everywhere, says Peter Krischio. The Tire Booster is a significant advantage in tubeless mounting. At a light weight of 435 grams, you can easily take it with you. If you need stronger airflow, you can also use a special adapter. For this purpose, the valve core is removed and the adapter is screwed directly onto the valve stem, which in turn maximises the airflow.

This is how it works: connect the Tire Booster with a conventional floor pump via the SV valve on the Tire Booster, pump up the bottle and then activate the quick-release valve. Immediately, the air is distributed evenly and the tyre sits firmly on the rim – usually with the typical loud crackling sound.
